I wanted it since as far back as early October, and on Sunday it
became official: A BCS championship matchup between the best of
the SEC and the best of the Big 12. Oklahoma vs. Florida is,
without question, the most intriguing BCS Championship matchup in
three years. Even the most casual followers of college football will be
tuned in Jan. 8 to watch this clash of star-studded powers.
And they'll do so with an added curiosity factor that goes beyond the
typical allure of a national championship game.

The overriding storyline of the 2008 season has been the extraordinarily
powerful offenses of the Big 12 and the heated championship race they
fostered. The overriding storylines of the 2006 and '07 season were the
dominant defenses of the SEC. The Outcome will be one for the books.
