Its that crucial time of the year again, the time of the year that most Americans
in the Southern States dread. Especially me and my fellow martianz that
reside in South Florida. Its Good Ole Hurricane Season. So far South Florida have been
lucky enough to dodge Hurricane Faye, Gustav, && Hanna. However, Ike is on the way
and it ain't looking too good. So just for precaution here are a few Hurricane Safety Tips :
- Listen for weather updates and stay informed
- Keep portable radio and flashlight on hand - with extra batteries
- Clear your yard of all loose objects
- Store drinking water - enough for about 3 days
- Plan a flood-free evacuation route
It remains a Category 4 hurricane; for now it is not threatening any land.
Ike needs to be monitored closely though in the Bahamas to eastern Florida
Expect possible impacts Sunday Night into Tuesday.
