I don't even know where to begin to explain the musical voyage I went on tonight. I went to the Raheem Devaughn and Chrisette Michele concert with J Millz and Whit at the House of Blues in Orlando, Fl. The show started with Solange Knowles opening up taking us back to the 1960's era. Many said she was "Trash", but to be more politically correct, she was not all that great. But than again I'm comparing her to big sis Beyonce. Next, Chrisette Michele came out and performed her hits. Michele reminds me of a modern day Billie Holiday with her distinctive and powerful voice that sure to leave chills flowing through your body. Finally, the man of the hour, Raheem Devaughn came out and delivered an experience out of this world. Raheem adds a new twist to Neo-Soul and R&B that almost anyone can relate to. There were old and young faces in the crowd that were vibing to the music. What intrigued me the most was while Raheem is performing he has a painter that paints whatever is relevant to the show. It may be what Raheem is wearing, the song, or the location. You can check out his out work at, Demont Peekaso. Overall the concert was fantastic and worth going to. Fellas, the show is something that not strictly for the ladies, you will enjoy yourself while watching the fine ladies around you singing the words.
If it not too late you should try to make it to the show in Miami on 06/22/2008
For those of you that been hiding underneath a pothole,
here is a little background info on Raheem Devaughn and Chrisette Michele.
